Goodbyes are so hard. Especially when it is said to an intimate friend that has proved to be the funnest around. This friend, Summer, has been so good to me.
Next week I start meetings at school. I love my job and consider myself extremely blessed. However, summer is just so wonderful.
This summer was the first in 3 years that I haven't worked. Normally I teach summer school. This summer season I said, "No", when the job was offered.
I wanted a break.
I got one and it was amazingly good.
This summer included:
---Trips to many parks with my trusty "man's best friend" Annie.
---Trips to a neighborhood candy store-penny candies rock:)
--Reunion to see the in-laws in sweet Texas.
--Family visits to the Farmers Market
--Shaved Ice: Yes, yes....it was amazing. (Mango is my favorite)
--Sleeping in
--Visiting my sister Brie and her 5 sweet kids:)
--Holding lots of newborns: Mainly Cristopher, Angelique, Livia, Lucy, James. ( Babies are miracles:)
--Straightening my house: (And deep cleaning at times)
--Weeding the lawn and garden
--Watching flowers bloom and smelling their blossoms
--Freshman Roommate Reunion (10 years it's been)
--Peterson family reunion (So fun to see family...even for 24 hours)
--Finally being able to swim and exercise (even if it is mild stuff)
--Taking Annie on 2 walks a day. (Hopefully I can keep it up in the fall)
--Random reunions at wedding receptions and at the doctors office. (I love seeing old friends)
--Seeing our grass come in (We planted seed and we are being patient:)
Summer has just been great. I thought I might be bored, not having a summer job. But honestly, I have enjoyed every last drop of not having to work. I work, but in an entirely different way:)
Time is pressing on and with it comes new adventures.
This is my 5th year of teaching. (3 Consecutive years in the same grade/subject level) Luckily it is part time, which is perfect for me.
New Master's classes: Yeah and boo. Boo because it means more papers to write. Yeah because at the end of those classes, out comes a baby. Yes.
So dear Summer,
Ta Ta for now. Thanks for making life so sweet. I will miss you.
Sincerely,
Sunburned me:)
